Evidences of Salvation

(1) You will be changed down in the depths of your being and be made a new creature. "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:17-18). If you have never been changed like this, then it is certain that you have never been "Born Again".

(2) You will have the witness of the Spirit in your life that you are a child of God. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God; they are the sons of God. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God" (Romans 8:14-16).

(3) You will have freedom from condemnation and from the law of sin and death and you will live and walk in the Spirit. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death...that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do obey the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit obey the things of the Spirit...and if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness" (Rom. 8:1-13, Gal. 5:16-26).

(4) You will be cleansed from all sin and delivered from the power and rule of sin as well as from the love of sin. "He shall save His people from their sins" (Matt. 1:21) and "the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin...if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:7-9).

(5) You will be free from sin. "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free...if the Son makes you free, you are free indeed!" (John 8:31-36) and "Shall we continue in sin that grace may increase? God forbid! How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer in sin?...our old man was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, so that from now on we will not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin...consider yourselves to be dead indeed to sin...sin shall not have power or authority over you...don't you know that when you yield yourselves as slaves to obey, you are slaves to the one you yield to -- whether you are slaves to sin which leads to death or slaves to obedience which leads to righteousness?...you were servants of sin...you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness...when you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness...but now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom. 6:1-23) Romans 8:1-4 says, "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." "Everyone that does righteous things is born of Him...he that does righteous things is righteous just as He is righteous. He that commits sin is of the devil...whoever is born of God does not commit sin...whoever is born of God overcomes the world...whoever is born of God does not sin but keeps himself, and that wicked one [the devil] does not touch him" (1 John 2:29, 3:710, 5:1-4, 5:18).
