The 5 Crowns of the Believers
The Incorruptible Crown
Mentioned in 1 Corinthians 9:25, this reward is given for attaining mastery over the "old man"--the person we were before being saved--and it awaits each of us who lives for the Lord with singleness of purpose. We are to live daily with the goal in mind.
The Crown of Rejoicing
This is a special reward for soulwinners. 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 affirms that souls won for Jesus will make us worthy of this crown. What an award must await the Apostle Paul, not only because of the Thessalonians he won to the Lord but also for the host of others he led to Calvary as well! In Daniel 12:3 in the Old Testament, Daniel wrote,
"Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever."
The Crown of Life
When satan storms the walls of our souls, threatening to break through, we must stand firm, trusting in the strength of Christ, remembering what is said in James 1:12, "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him."
The Crown of Righteousness
In 2 Timothy 4:8, Paul wrote to Timothy, "Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award me on that day--and not only me but also to all who have longed for His appearing."
The Crown of Glory
This seems to be a special reward for the faithful Pastor who willingly feeds his flock week after week. The Apostle Peter discussed the reward in 1 Peter 5:2-4, "Be Shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve, not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that never will fade away."
